German is definitely more widely spoken worldwide than, say, Maori. Okay, so you’re not against Germans—perfect.
I’m glad for you that it’s working perfectly.
Unlike you, I can’t select German as the target language in the drop-down menu! I have the latest version of Firefox, 154.0.1 (64-bit), on my PC. And since I speak and write German, I’ve naturally set my Firefox to German.
Everything worked without any problems before this bug appeared. After that, translation wasn’t possible for a good five days. Now that you’ve fixed the bug, I can’t set the language to German.
I just downloaded the tool “YouTube No Translation,” and it works perfectly with that.Developer response

and it works fine for me:
I can select German from the “Target Language” drop-down.

- Rated 5 out of 5by Genomu, 5 days agoAmazing extension but it broke recently. I guess it is some Google Translate API change since other translation extensions like Simple Translate also broke before they were recently fixed. An update is needed to fix this now.

have you updated the extension?
I recently fixed a translation problem concerning replies. If it still doesn't work, try reinstalling it or send me the title/link of the video where the problem occurred.
