by Firefox user 14375826, a year agoEDITED FOR CLARITY
I would love to give uBlacklist 5 stars but unfortunately the thing can't seem to decide when it will and will not work on startpage, my main search engine. When we open up a new tabfor the first time, it works as intended. If I search from within that particular tab (that is, if I have searched "chicken recipe" then decide to edit that search to "chicken soup recipe") it no longer works. Even if I go to the browser bar rather than the search engine bar.
This renders the thing pretty much useless to me. I do not find this particularly surprising, because 99% of everything involving the internet is garbage, but I do find it frustrating. So very, very Frustrating.
FURTHER EDIT: it appears that ublacklist, in addition to the above problem, only works for the specific url that they keep on their end. this means that using the startpage settings url (the one you can use instead of using a cookie to save user settings) does not register on ublacklist's end. As we all know, any measure the user takes to protect their online privacy must be met with resistance to dissuade them from continuing to deviate from the norm.

- Rated 5 out of 5by Claire, 17 hours agoWorks fine. Just installed today to hide website that don't respect rgpd.
- Rated 2 out of 5by wut, 2 days agoStill broken as of version 10.0.2. The block button only appears on Google and DuckDuckGo when it feels like it, and websites that were supposed to be blocked aren't. Its likely that an update by Google themselves unintentionally broke uBlacklist.
The creator doesn't allow you to report issues on GitHub. Probably too busy creating useless pandering anti-AI garbage to notice this once great add-on has turned to crap. - Rated 1 out of 5by Shy Sly, 2 days agoIt worked until recently, now the block icon disappeared from Google All tab and previously blocked sites are visible. It still works on Images and Video tabs tho.
- Rated 5 out of 5by captain88, a month agoThis extension is amazing, it just works, it even has a block icon near the search result to block that website.
this is perfect, now i can block time distracting and untrusthworthy sites from my search results - Rated 1 out of 5by Darren, a month agoDoesn't function and the maker is too lazy to make software for other people. Keep your 25% finished projects to yourself please.
- Rated 5 out of 5by Brixter, a month agoThis addon is fantastic. I can finally block fandom.com and quora.com from appearing from my search results.

- Rated 5 out of 5by ToneLeMoan, a month agoSaves me from reading the utter faecal deluge that is Reddit post titles in search results. Thanks!

Man, Anthropic is unbearable. Well, we need more Claude Code slop, don't we? - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 5489333, 2 months agoUsed to work on google and DDG (though not in mobile browser for DDG). Now it updated and both "block this site" and "show blocked results" are gone.
Edit: apparently the last good version is 8.12.0. Everything after that is broken. - Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 19480727, 2 months agoalmost works on duckduckgo image search, but it stops working on results that load in. The little Ø sign that appears on the corner of images does not do so on images that are loaded as you scroll down. it also stops blocking images from blacklisted sites. please fix this! i want to rid of ai slop forever! then i'll give you five stars :)
edit: okay so i found out that if you do your search query whilst having the "all" tab selected, then go to the "images" tab, then it works properly. However if you make a search whilst in the "images" tab, then it breaks. What a strange bug... - Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 18205130, 3 months agoUPD 5: Doesn't working in Google Alerts.
UP 4: Extension erased my entire list of what I've blocked over the past 2-3 years.
UPD 3: It DOESN'T WORK ANYMORE.
UPD 2: Some blocked websites still appear in search results.
UPD 1: THIS ABSOLUTELY DOES NOT WORK IN DDG. Im return to google.
does not remove from the results in the Pictures sections, etc. in the same Google & DuckDuckGo. Please fix it, i like your addon.
Thanks for SERPINFO feature, finally on other search working (uBlacklist stopped removing certain sites from the search results that I want to avoid with all my might, for example abc.site.com I write it down as *:/abc.site.com /* and *:/*.site.com/*)
Please fix it and i put 5 stars. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 19945682, 3 months ago
