Chat Exporter For ChatGPT by dwoof

A privacy-friendly Firefox extension that saves complete ChatGPT conversations as PDF, Markdown, standalone HTML, or structured JSON. Exports can contain the entire conversation, only your messages, or only ChatGPT responses. Rich PDF and HTML exports preserve headings, lists, code, tables, links, images, and math while leaving ChatGPT's sidebar and composer out of the document.

1. Open any conversation at https://chatgpt.com/ (the legacy chat.openai.com hostname is also supported).
2. Wait for ChatGPT to finish rendering the response and any images.
3. Select the Conversation Exporter toolbar icon, choose the format and messages to include, then select Export conversation. You can also open the popup with Ctrl+Shift+E.
4. Follow progress in the popup or the ChatGPT page. You can cancel safely while the conversation is being read or formatted.
5. When preparation finishes, Firefox opens its standard Save As window. Choose where to save the suggested .pdf, .md, .html, or .json file.

The original page is restored after Firefox finishes the monitored save stage, and the toolbar badge reports success, cancellation, or an error. Markdown, HTML, and JSON exports report measured download progress. Firefox does not expose byte progress for its native PDF saver, so PDF exports display an indeterminate finalization timer and keep the prepared document active briefly after Save As closes.
