Character Card Manager is a local-first Chrome extension for managing SillyTavern character cards. Cards and preferences stay in your browser unless you use an optional network feature described below. There is no account and no analytics.

This document is the source copy of the public privacy policy. The Chrome Web Store listing uses:

The same information is shown in the extension at Settings → Privacy.

• Character cards you create or import are stored in this extension’s IndexedDB.
• Language, theme, and other preferences are stored in extension storage.
• This data stays on your device until you export it, pair a local folder, or use an optional network feature.

Pair a local folder (optional): after you authorize it, character-card PNGs sync to the folder you choose using the browser File System Access API. Synced files stay on your disk and are not uploaded.


The extension sends data off this device only when you use one of these features. You can turn them all off with Offline mode in Settings → Privacy.

1. Translate. Card text is sent to public translation backends tried in order: Google GTX (translate.googleapis.com), Microsoft Edge Translator, SimplyTranslate, and MyMemory. No API key is stored.
2. Temporary share. The character-card PNG (the image plus embedded card text / metadata) is uploaded to https://api.sillytavern101.xyz/uploads/cards. Links last about 5 minutes. Anyone who has the link can download the file.
3. Import from URL. The extension fetches the address you paste (PNG or JSON).
4. Site quick-download. On listed character-card sites (JannyAI, Chub.ai, CharacterHub, Character Tavern, AI Character Cards, WyvernChat), clicking Import fetches that card. Buttons do not appear when Quick download or Offline mode is off.

This extension does not collect or sell:

• Personal identification information (name, email, account)
• Browsing history or unrelated website activity
• Cookies or tracking data
• Analytics or telemetry

• storage: Save character cards and preferences on this device.
• Export: Character card PNGs are saved through the browser’s standard download / Save dialog. The downloads API permission is not used.
• host_permissions: Fetch a URL you provide, talk to translation and temporary-share hosts, and import from listed character-card sites when you click Import. This is not used to read unrelated browsing activity.

• On first run, and after this policy update, the extension shows a notice you must accept before using the library.
• Translate and temporary share ask again before sending data.
• Turn on Offline mode in Settings → Privacy to keep cards on this device only (IndexedDB and an optional paired folder).

If this privacy policy changes, we will notify you through the extension welcome screen and updates.
