AI Translate does not collect, store, or share any personal data on its own.

What happens when you translate:
- When you select text and click Translate selection, that text along with your chosen target language is sent to the OpenRouter API (https://openrouter.ai/api/v1/chat/completions) using the API key and model you configured in the extension's Settings.
- The request is made directly from your browser to OpenRouter. The extension itself does not proxy or log the text.

What is stored locally:
- Your settings — target language, model ID, and OpenRouter API key — are stored locally in your browser via browser.storage.local. They are never transmitted anywhere except to OpenRouter as described above.

What is not collected:
- No analytics, tracking, or telemetry.
- No data is sent to the extension developer.

Third party:
- Use of OpenRouter is subject to OpenRouter's Privacy Policy and the privacy policy of the underlying model provider you select. Review them before translating sensitive content.
